

Nicola Taylor is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ScotlandIS, the representative body for the digital technologies industry in Scotland.
Starting with the organisation as a part-time project administrator for one of the ScotlandIS skills initiatives, Nicola is now the Chief Operating Officer for ScotlandIS. She is passionate about tackling the skills gaps in the tech sector and has led on various ScotlandIS skills projects during her time with the organisation, including both the undergraduate paid placement programme, e-Placement Scotland, and the more recent Digital Critical Friends initiative. A law graduate from the University of Aberdeen, Nicola is an avid supporter of the Scottish digital tech industry and has been for almost 15 years.
Nicola relishes the dynamic nature of her role, which involves engaging with diverse stakeholders, from industry leaders to young students and she is an active STEM Ambassador.

ScotlandIS is the membership and cluster management organisation for Scotland’s digital technologies industry. It represents over 1300 organisations, including software development companies, telecommunications providers, IT Managed Service Proivers and digital agencies, as well as emerging tech sectors such as cyber security and data science.
ScotlandIS plays a critical role in shaping policy and advocating for the tech industry at both the national and international levels. The organization provides a range of services to its members, including networking opportunities, market intelligence, and professional development programs. By promoting collaboration and innovation, ScotlandIS helps to position Scotland as a leading hub for digital technology.
