Workstream aims
The Skills and Talent Workstream aims to grow and retain a digital talent pipeline that realises the needs of the region.
DigiTay, the Tay Cities Digital Skills Project, co-leads this workstream with the mission of strengthening the digital skills to support a future digital economy. By collaborating with education providers and organisations to develop and deliver a range of activities, initiatives, and training programs focused on skilling, re-skilling, and upskilling in digital and data skills. This ensures that the Tay Cities Region has a well-prepared sustainable workforce.
Across Scotland, there are reported to be 15,600 digital technology vacancies every year, with 75% of employers reporting difficulties in recruiting individuals with the relevant skills. The Optimat report commissioned to map the Tay Cities Region’s digital ecosystem also identified recruitment and retention difficulties as a key challenge
To address this, we are seeking to engage with tech businesses within the region’s ecosystem to ensure we are developing the right skills to fill both current and future vacancies.
